Where there’s FAITH , MIRACLES happen!
My niqaab journey is emotional yet empowering for me! Years back, a few trials in life had drawn me closer to Allah swt and I started my hijab after reading the Quran with translation. I started working in a reputable institution where Allah has blessed me with the company of pious people and I started yearning to observe niqaab and sharayi parda but my husband (although he’s gem of a person) wasn’t ready for it.
Later, in 2016 Allah swt answered our prayers and we were called for Hajj Alhumdulilah. I kept on praying to Allah swt to make that Hajj transformational for me. There, in front of the Kaaba, I smartly requested my hubby to let me proceed with my wish of niqaab and he agreed saying I haven’t left him with any other option. 😊
Little would I know that ‘abhi imtehaan aur bhi hain!’
Once we returned from Hajj we started to have rows and disagreements over the niqaab issue as he wasn’t convinced yet. Despite feeling devastated I kept on making dua and SubhanAllah one fine evening when he came back from office he shared that whilst listening to the Quran with translation in the car, he heard ayahs of Surah An-Nur and told me how he can come between the commandments of Allah swt about ‘parda’?
Allahu Akbar kabeera!! What I couldn’t change in years, Allah moved his heart on Haqq in a moment.
Alhumdulilah, now he’s my biggest supporter and my niqaab has strengthened my self- esteem and liberated me like never before.
It’s rightly said not to underestimate the power of dua!
